Hayley and Ruari Grant

Last week B's coworker got married in Ohio. I had never been to Ohio before (or really any state that wasn't somewhere near the coast) so it was very exciting. The area is just so different from New York and interesting in a million ways. I was very excited to go to this wedding because I knew it would be the first time I'd be able to hang out with some of my favorite people that B works with in a fancier setting. We all looked our best as we gathered for one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen. The ceremony and reception was set up in the bride's backyard right along the Ohio river. The weather was perfect, the ceremony was perfect, the sunset was perfect and the reception was one of the most fun times I've had with the Fiddlesticks group.

I look back on the wedding and can't believe how quickly it went by and how much fun it was. I'm so happy that Ruari and Hayley get to now start their lives together because they were just made for each other.

Here are a few photos I snapped from the absolutely beautiful event.

Early Easter

Went out last week with B for a little Easter celebration since we knew we wouldn't really be celebrating on the actually holiday. We would be coming back from our friend's wedding in Ohio.
Without a second thought we put on some of our most colorful clothes and went to a lovely dinner and enjoyed some yummy ice cream from Sundaes and Cones (which I'm almost positive I mentioned in another post. You should all go because it's delicious)

*Last minute edit: I realized this blog has been a little all over the place when it comes to our style posts. B has a pretty consistent sense of style but mine is really an explosions of different parts of me. There are parts of me that are preppy colorful chic (as pictured below) festival inspired, super casual or bold and sexy. Most people also have a diverse sense of style to them so I go out and don't be afraid to rock them!

Neighbors

I loved our old building in Washington Heights with all of my heart. It had an elevator (for when I was being lazy), it use to have roof access that had a beautiful view of the river and the George Washington Bridge and we had some of the best neighbors. The building had a lot of young people in it who lived uptown to escape astronomical rents and still have enough room. When one of us would throw a party we'd all come over, then leave to go hang at another person's apartment and then go over to another person's apartment to play video games. It was what I imagined living in a dorm  would be like.

When we moved into our new home our neighbor situation was a little different. Everyone was just a little bit older and while everyone is incredibly nice, I don't see too many people doing what we use to do. I finally recognize a lot of faces and while I don't know too many names it's nice to say hello.

One of the neighbors I talk to the most is Mark. I run into him the most in the building and he's a really cool dude. We'll hang at the bar close to the apartment or on our roof from time to time and it's nice to be able to say "I have cool neighbors" again.

So here are a couple of photos I took of Mark on our roof one day and I'm hoping I'll get to shoot again with him soon.

Wild Child Full of Grace

Last week I got to shoot with the beautiful Rachel Lynch of Ihateblonde.com.
After finding out I had access to my roof we sat up on there relaxing, getting some much needed sun, drinking sweet wine and shooting. I forget how I came across Rachel's blog but I fell in love with it pretty quickly. The blonde alien child has such a unique style in her sky high heels and crazy prints that I'm just hypnotized by.

It was such a pleasure getting to shoot with her and be sure to look out for other collaborations with her coming soon!

You help me lose my mind

Spring in full effect in NYC. I know I've been talking about the weather a lot recently on the blog but it's hard not to when I've been dreaming of warm weather all winter. It feels so good to not have to wear tights and can just sit outside and soak up the sun and the east village. I found out this week that I have roof access so I've been also soaking up lots of lunar love at night while drinking wine with good friends.

I have some really projects coming up that I can't wait to tell you about. I'll be shooting a couple of things for a couple of different popular magazines, I'll be working with a pretty big DJ again in a couple of months and will have a full feature of him on the blog. A lot of really good things are happening.

This weeks style post mixes a lot of our favorite things. For me, it's long dresses, shiny accessories and jeweled shoes. For B, it's looking like a grandfather (his words, not mine). For Charlie, it's being outside.

*Title from Help Me Lose My Mind by Disclosure because I can't stop playing it*

I'm wearing the Ecote Neima Gauze Coin Trapeze Dress from Urban Outfitters.
(As a little note, it took me such a long time to be able to feel comfortable as a short girl in a long dress or in a jumper but now that I've found some good length pieces I can't stop. The number of maxi dresses and jumpers that have come into my wardrobe this year is comical. So to all my shorties out there, DON'T BE AFRAID TO DO IT!)
Headwrap from Urban Outfitters (similar here)
Snake earring is from Buffalo Exchange
Prizzy Sandals are from Jeffrey Campbell

B is wearing a leather jacket from Emporio Armani
Pants are from Marc Jacobs
Shirt from J Crew from the Washed Favorites collection (although pattern is no longer available)
Ringer Richelieu sneakers are from Marc Jacobs

Charlie is wearing Coastal Pet Products Personalized Comfort Soft Dog Harness from Petco and a dog Mets dog leash because he ate his other one and my father replaced it with this one. I am embarrassed to use it.

Special thanks to my best friend Krystal for helping me out with some of these photo!
