Daniel Franzese

I love shooting with actors. Everyone has so many different stories, from working hard and trying to make it to the ones who finally have. It's wonderful to get to chat and hear of their projects and triumphs, no matter how big or small, and get to shoot while doing it.

Last Sunday I got to work with Daniel Franzese, famously known for his role as Damian from Mean Girls. It was so much fun wandering around the East Village taking pictures while discussing goldfish, our love of Instagram and the documentary on Detroit he directed. Danny is such a hilarious and chill person it was such a pleasure to shoot with him. He was even kind enough to recreate one of my favorite Mean Girls moments with me.

National Zoo

The first time I went to Washington DC was a disaster. It was 3 years ago and I was visiting my ex boyfriend while he was doing a music program. The entire trip was a disaster. My allergies kept me sniffling and puffy, it rained the entire time and I ended up seeing a man get robbed. I was over it and never wanted to go back.

When I told B about this told me about how he spent entire summer in DC and convinced me to give it another chance. We went in December of 2012 and he was totally right. Washington DC was beautiful and a great little escape from New York. We went back for a slightly longer vacation in April of 2013 and planned to go back again sometime in the fall.

After my knee surgery those plans were put on hold but I was aching to go back. My favorite animal is a panda and I anxiously waited each week to get my schedule and figure out if I could head out to see the new baby panda at the National Zoo. I was finally able to get out there this weekend with my lovely mother. We both needed to get away from the city for a bit and just enjoy some really cute animals at the zoo. It was a great bonding trip for us.

I don't want to say seeing Bao Bao, the baby panda, was the greatest moment of my life because that would just be sad but it was a very excellent moment.

This week on Instagram (February 16th - February 23rd)

This week started out with the prospect of being busy and ended up being pretty slow. This week coming up is going to be hectic and I'm so excited.
Here are some of the highlights of the week but if you want to see more follow me HERE on Instagram.

We had a double date dumpling cooking night on tuesday. Find the recipe delicious HERE

B and I celebrated our two year anniversary by going to Ushiwaka Maru, a sushi place where the only recognizable item on the menu was spicy tuna. B brought me there so I could be adventurous and try new foods. I was skeptical at first but it turned out to be an amazing experience. If you get the opportunity to go you should.

The morning before I left for DC spent drinking tea with my Anthropologie mug and in my American Apparel Pajama set (which apparently they don't sell anymore)

My obsession with Buffalo Exchange followed me all the way to Georgetown where I found this beautiful statement piece for $6.50

Met up with friend and owner of Sassyandbadassy.blogspot.com, Ella Rinaldo, to discuss life, collaborations and shoes. (Fun fact: the delicious dumpling recipe is from her blog and there are more recipes and lifestyle advice there so be sure to check it out)

Throwback Thursday: Two Year Anniversary

Today is my two year anniversary with my love, Brian.
I can't even begin to describe where my head is at today. I have never been with anyone for two years.
It really feels like just yesterday I nervously asked Brian to let me photograph him. Like I was just telling my friends about this a beautiful guy that I was kind of into but refused to really admit because I had just gotten out of a relationship.

It hasn't always been easy and both of us have made our mistakes but today, on our 2 year anniversary, I can only see what makes us happy, what makes us strong at what it's going to take for each of us to become better so we can grow together as a couple.

I am grateful for my beautiful best friend and continuously overwhelmed with the amazing love that I receive.

I don't normally post photos that I've already posted on the blog but today is a special occasion. These photos were taken on a windy cold day in January. When I showed up to B's apartment his roommate Richard was kind enough to let me in because B had slept through me buzzing in. I remember sitting int he living room awkwardly, taking in the apartment and getting a feel for the boys who would later become like family to me. I remember the nervous feeling I got in my stomach as B and I took photos on his rooftop, a rooftop I would later spend summer nights dancing on, eating homemade meals on by candlelight and sometimes even watching the sunrise on.
So much time has passed since that day and so many things have happened. I can't believe it's been two years.

Happy anniversary my love. Here is to the next year being even better.
